I developed practical skills in fabrication and design at an early age. In high school, I focused on industrial arts, including machine shop and woodworking. I built a functional bandsaw and crafted a checkerboard end table.
I've completed a Wildlife Management course through Penn Foster, have studied gunsmithing through NRI Schools, completed an Invasive Species Management Workshop, and have attended multiple FISTA (Forest Industry Safety & Training Alliance) workshops designed for professionals in the logging and forestry industries.
In addition to education, I began fishing at a young age, started hunting at age 16, and started trapping in my 20s. I also traveled to Alabama for a hog and turkey hunt, successfully harvesting both.
I participated in a nuisance trapping program in South Africa through People to People International and the National Trappers Association (September 2001; trip delayed one week due to 9/11). I've also done storm damage cleanup in multiple states in the USA.
